So I’m now a step further into figuring out how to ship the blood, though I think it’s going to be a little bit of an obstacle course, because my mother lives in Virginia and my father lives in Canada.
I’m definitely going to have to figure out something though–time to get this ball rolling!

RS,
Thank you very much for sending the information about shipping the blood.
There are five people total who are going to be a part of the study (myself, my son, my son’s father, my mother (who lives Virginia) and possibly my father (who lives in Canada).
Are there any special instructions shipping blood from Virginia and Ottawa, Canada? Hopefully, I can get the blood organized so it’s all sent on the same week.
Feel free to mail me all the kits with instructions, and I will send them on to the right places 🙂

I do not have a physician lined up to draw my blood, though hopefully I can find one. First I’m going to try and have our blood drawn at UCLA, which I’ve had success with in the past drawing blood to ship to immunology labs. Hopefully, they will again…
Do you need all the family members to send you the blood on the same day? That will probably be hard to do, but I can mostly likely organize it so the blood is sent in the same week.
Thanks again for all of your help. No matter how this turns out, we are looking forward to it.
Warmly,

Hello Teddy,
I will mail all necessary forms for you to complete, with explicit instructions on how to fill them out. I will send all of the required blood tubes and instructions for return. The blood MUST be sent back for us to receive Monday thru Thursday ONLY.
Do you have a physician who will draw the blood for you?
I will also need your complete mailing address and phone number to place on the documents.
Once I have your complete address I will send out the tubes.
Also, since this is a sequencing project I am assuming there will be additional family members enrolled.
Please let me know how many and who they are so I can send enough of the paperwork and blood tubes. All family members should have blood drawn at the same time, and placed back in the shipping container that I will send to you.
Please feel free to contact me if you have additional questions.
Warm Regards,
RS
