On a light note: Raw veggies for dinner tonight!

I met this super nice woman from Fiji at Cedars today, and she said she lives on a remote island with her husband (who was in the hospital having quadruple bypass surgery),

and she told me I should eat raw veggies every day, as much as possible during the day.

I know it seems crazy and stupid, but when you’ve been really sick a long time, Spaghetti O’s out of the can is easy–a break from everything in my life which is not.

This woman is right, of course, and I am only hurting myself every time I put something in my mouth which has been processed.

No time like the present to change! Celery dipped in fresh quacuamole to start, some fresh tomatoes with small pieces of Kale (that’s all I can take), drenched in Grape seed oil, and then steak and corn on the cob…

It can’t all be raw–the invention of fire is a great thing–

But I’m starting…

My goal is to still be alive to visit her on that island in Fiji (they’re building a resort–I gotta go see it 🙂

About hopeforanswers

Some kind of rare immune deficiency, yet to be determined. A lifetime of infections without an elevated white cell blood or fever. Very grateful to be alive, very thankful for the friends who’ve supported me and for access to literally millions of dollars worth of medical care. I’m not the bubble child, I’m somewhere in between.
