“You’re too healthy to have something seriously wrong with you.”

Yep,

My appointment at UCLA went that bad.

Most doctors don’t understand, it’s actually the opposite. We look healthy, but we actually have super serious health problems.

This doctor was older, set in his ways, and stubborn.

“You’re too healthy to have anything seriously wrong with you.” Without flinching. Looking me straight in the eyes.

I guess his brain malfunction when I said I have thousands of pages of medical records. Last I checked, healthy people didn’t have thousands of pages of medical records.

I think I’m going to frame that quote next to my final diagnosis one day.

(In his defense, he started to think a lot more after my reaction, but he’s still convinced it’s nothing that abnormal…)

Little does he know, how abnormal this is.

About hopeforanswers

Some kind of rare immune deficiency, yet to be determined. A lifetime of infections without an elevated white cell blood or fever. Very grateful to be alive, very thankful for the friends who’ve supported me and for access to literally millions of dollars worth of medical care. I’m not the bubble child, I’m somewhere in between.
