Amazing doctor I found at the Walmart in Ottawa, Ontario

For all the U.S. haters of the Canadian system, this doctor undisputedly proves them wrong. I found him just getting a prescription for David’s pink eye. This is an email I wrote to my father about him…I’ll write more later this week about my meeting with my father’s doctor 🙂

Hey Paw,

This is the young French doctor I was telling you about who David saw today for his pink eye at Walmart. He’s only at the clinic on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, but the pharmacist said all the doctors there are very good.

We only waited 15 minutes to get David in to see him, and the best part about it–they said if I had had an Ontario health card, seeing him would have been completely free.

(Where are the liars in the U.S. about Canadian healthcare? Here I don’t believe them, and even I was a little shocked how efficient and good everything was.)

Even though I like Dr. Aubry, I think Dr. Kyrillos is also a good doctor for you to see for things like checking your blood pressure, getting your toe nail checked, or following up if you need to about your new antibiotic while Dr. Aubry is in London.

Just be gentle with him 🙂 He’s very young, maybe just started practicing, so if you overwhelm him he might not want to help you. Just keep it to one or two issues, and if he starts asking more questions, then give more information. But slowly.

That’s what happened today…I started talking about David, and he got a little curious, so he started asking more questions…keep it simple for the first few meetings.

He’s a very good doctor. Young, but he’s curious and he cares too.

About hopeforanswers

Some kind of rare immune deficiency, yet to be determined. A lifetime of infections without an elevated white cell blood or fever. Very grateful to be alive, very thankful for the friends who’ve supported me and for access to literally millions of dollars worth of medical care. I’m not the bubble child, I’m somewhere in between.
