Constipation, digestive enzyme–maybe our immune deficiency is related to our constipation?

I was in Walgreens today picking up David another prescription for his pink eye that just won’t go away,

and I started reading this pamphlet on gas (in addition to chronic constipation, David and I also suffer from painful gas from time to time),

and in this pamphlet they suggested taking a digestive enzyme to help with digestion before eating.

So that got me thinking–I wonder if there’s an enzyme that aids in digestion of food that also aids in the functioning of the immune system? That might be the clue to the answer (or the answer itself).

I’ve always thought there is a relationship between our immune deficiency and our constipation…just a hunch feeling over the years.

I’ll have to ask my doctors about this. I wonder if there are any tests?

About hopeforanswers

Some kind of rare immune deficiency, yet to be determined. A lifetime of infections without an elevated white cell blood or fever. Very grateful to be alive, very thankful for the friends who’ve supported me and for access to literally millions of dollars worth of medical care. I’m not the bubble child, I’m somewhere in between.
