My toe *with* the splinter in it

This is the picture I took of my toe last night in the ER, when I had just gotten the splinter about 7 hours earlier.

When the podiatrist looked at my toe today, she said she could only see with magnifying glass only a small speck of something,

“but we better be safe and investigate, with your immune disorder, especially since it hurts you”.

All good things to hear from a doctor–it means she’s listening 🙂

But then once she cut the skin she found an over 1/2 inch splinter–She couldn’t believe it. “I can’t believe you weren’t screaming in pain!!”

The photo of the splinter and the entire story is in the next post 🙂

About hopeforanswers

Some kind of rare immune deficiency, yet to be determined. A lifetime of infections without an elevated white cell blood or fever. Very grateful to be alive, very thankful for the friends who’ve supported me and for access to literally millions of dollars worth of medical care. I’m not the bubble child, I’m somewhere in between.
