My Father: The A**hole to the End

My father went out of his way to call me just to let me know he wasn’t leaving me anything “you do understand that Teddy”. It kind of ranks up there with the time this woman said to me on Christmas Day, in a room full of people, loud enough so that everyone could hear, that she didn’t get me a Christmas present.

The meanness of some people never ceases to amaze me. Perhaps I just wasn’t cut out for this world.

Nothing of course surprises me, as my father never once took any responsibly for me or my sister. There are those humans beings who love and take responsibly for others (blood or not) and those who don’t.

I happen to have two parents who don’t.

[I started the below email dialogue, after thinking a few hours about our conversation, in response to his concerns the government is going to take most of what he has, even though whatever is left he’s leaving to his ‘adopted daughter’, Assista (who is a wonderful woman). My father hasn’t really done anything for me since I was born. The only thing he did do, which I am very grateful, is open up about his health problems over the last couple of years…in pieces, but enough information to confirm I inherited something not good from him. I also learned the ropes of the Canadian healthcare system, but mostly by default. But it has helped.]

Paw, I’m not critizing you. I want you to enjoy the time you have left now. If emails could speak, you would hear my voice only with tones of kindness 🙂

If you’re dead you’re not going to have to pay the rent. I’m sure they make exceptions.

Leave the money to Assita. She can buy bags of rice the next time she’s in Africa, and feed a lot of people from her home town with it.

the rent – I have no lease here BUT I signed a deal of 60 days notice – example-if I croak on
april 15 my estate has to pay rent for may & june.
then Ken has expenses to be covered & legally he is entitled to 20% of the cash that is left .
but my cost of living is high
I do not buy gold- I need cash to live
the government will grab the rest

One way to make sure the government doesn’t take all your money, is to buy a few gold coins at a bank (*not* the mint–you want investor coins), and then you can sell them back to the bank if you need to cash them in to pay rent or whatever.

Then keep them hidden away in a special place, with the persons name on it you’d like to give it too. I’m sure assista will honor your request.

Just *don’t* tell anyone where they are, otherwise they’ll disappear 🙂

About hopeforanswers

Some kind of rare immune deficiency, yet to be determined. A lifetime of infections without an elevated white cell blood or fever. Very grateful to be alive, very thankful for the friends who’ve supported me and for access to literally millions of dollars worth of medical care. I’m not the bubble child, I’m somewhere in between.
