Me: It was too hot today.

David: WHAT?? You’re going to use THAT as an excuse????

Um, I guess he doesn’t understand how Lyme disease has made my joints painful (on a normal day), and with the heat it’s just excruciating.

Instead?

Me: You know me David, I just like to goof off. I’m really good at being a goof-off.

And with that he huffed disapprovingly, and opened his book. (With that, ‘fine, I guess I’ll just have to do the work then!’)
