David l’s pink eye :(

We ran out of liquid antibiotics, and David just doesn’t like to take pills, it’s the holidays, etc etc, and sure enough now after two weeks no antibiotics, he’s developing pink eye on his right eye (in the corner).

It’s so friggen predictable–no antibiotics mean sinus infection/pink eye, sometimes the sinus infection first, sometimes the pink eye first.

If I just leave it be, it would just get worse and worse over the next week. Since we don’t create a normal inflammatory response, we don’t get the pus and the swelling that normal people get, but what happens, is that if his eye is left untreated, it’ll just get more and more red…

David is going to have to swallow his Augmentin pill tonight, like it or not. I’m going to need to get him some more liquid antibiotics as soon as I can.

(The oral antibiotics should get rid of it, but if it doesn’t I’ll have to get him some eye drops too. It’s still pretty early though, so they oral antibiotics should work.)

About hopeforanswers

Some kind of rare immune deficiency, yet to be determined. A lifetime of infections without an elevated white cell blood or fever. Very grateful to be alive, very thankful for the friends who’ve supported me and for access to literally millions of dollars worth of medical care. I’m not the bubble child, I’m somewhere in between.
