Allergic reaction to tape

I’m having an allergic reaction to the tape the nurse used today to tape up my tubing so that I wouldn’t accidentally yank on it.

It was a white bandage type tape, like gauze but it had a sticky side.

It doesn’t hurt or burn, and given how many serious medical problems I have, this tape allergy isn’t one of them, it’s just annoying…

I guess after years and years of having medical tape on my body for various reasons, my skin just doesn’t like it anymore…

(This tape came off my chest about six hours ago, and it’s actually gotten redder, probably because I didn’t wipe off the sticky part that was still left on my body–that’s what I seem to be allergic to–the glue.)

About hopeforanswers

Some kind of rare immune deficiency, yet to be determined. A lifetime of infections without an elevated white cell blood or fever. Very grateful to be alive, very thankful for the friends who’ve supported me and for access to literally millions of dollars worth of medical care. I’m not the bubble child, I’m somewhere in between.
