In a world of stupid things

This might be the dumbest thing I’ve done in awhile. 🙂

Just a few minutes ago I still had my hospital badge on from the stomach scope I did on Tuesday (not the name badge (which easily tears off), the red allergy badge), and because it’s *plastic* I couldn’t tear it off.

So here it is, the middle of the night, I’m tired, feeling lazy, and I just couldn’t rip the dang thing off my wrist.

Instead of walking twenty feet to the kitchen (that requires work, right?) I had the brilliant idea “what a minute, I have a lighter right here, I’ll just burn a little of it so I can tear it off.”

Up goes the flame, less than an inch from my wrist, and what comes down?

Hot melting plastic.

Which is now melded into my skin.

I’m gonna have a nice little mark there as a reminder not to take the short cuts in life. Next time, walk the twenty feet to the kitchen. 🙂

About hopeforanswers

Some kind of rare immune deficiency, yet to be determined. A lifetime of infections without an elevated white cell blood or fever. Very grateful to be alive, very thankful for the friends who’ve supported me and for access to literally millions of dollars worth of medical care. I’m not the bubble child, I’m somewhere in between.
