How did the doctor appointments go?

I hope they went as well as can be expected…

I’m doing ok…I rescheduled my appointment with dr Pitchon cuz I was getting ready to do this prep (he’s the kind of doctor who always runs really late, so I didn’t want to go too late), and I’m pretty miserable on the toilet…this new prep that they have, Prepolix, tastes a lot better than the old prep, but it gave me super bad stomach pains…

I definitely recommend going to a meat, veggie and fruit diet a week before the procedure (no dairy or bread), then only vegetables and fruit 5 days before the procedure, then clear liquids the day before the colonoscopy…

They always recommended clear liquids the day before, but one day before isn’t enough, it’s still a shock to the system…it’s more of an inconvenience to change the diet–but much easier on your body–to eat much easier things to digest the week leading up to the procedure…

‘Prep’ is just pharmaceuticals way of trying to make an easy solution to a problem, but it’s so hard on the body…

Like fast food, there is no good easy solution–we all have to pay some kind of consequence for cutting corners 😜.

I think for the stomach, it’s much better to put in the work and make it as easy as possible on your system to get rid of everything…

Next time I do this, I’m going to work on a diet changing, then Miralax increasing way to get eliminated–Miralax is much easier on the system, it just takes longer to work so patients would have to plan ahead more–

but this prep is awful 🤢.

About hopeforanswers

Some kind of rare immune deficiency, yet to be determined. A lifetime of infections without an elevated white cell blood or fever. Very grateful to be alive, very thankful for the friends who’ve supported me and for access to literally millions of dollars worth of medical care. I’m not the bubble child, I’m somewhere in between.
