No word from National Jewish Hospital yet…

I still haven’t heard back regarding David Noah’s results from the C2 and C3 function tests. When they responded at the beginning of July, they said it would take 4 weeks for the results to come back, then I sent them an email on August 2nd and now it’s August 21st and still no response…

I’ve learned the hard way in medicine, when they don’t respond in a reasonable amount of time it usually means either A) they’re super busy and just haven’t gotten around to it yet, or B) they have no idea what to say because they don’t entirely understand what it is they’re looking at.

I have a feeling this time it’s B.

Subset to the answer B, is that they’re discussing the results amongst themselves or even researching or trying other tests to look for more information,

But that’s so rare it’s almost never what’s going on.

When I emailed them in July, the doctor who responded was so friendly and straightforward, I feel that if the answer was a clear cut negative she would have already responded to let us know that.

It’s probably not a clear cut positive either, hence the delay. Maybe they’re not even sure how to classify the results (?)

I’m just getting frustrated, because time is of the essence…there are many studies on the immune system and tests for the immune system that are *only* available here in the United States,

so I really want them to get moving in case David Noah needs to travel somewhere for follow up testing…

Who knows? Maybe they’re just busy and haven’t gotten around to responding, but I find that unlikely given she responded so quickly to my original email, right after they had received Noah’s blood.

Hopefully they’re just thinking about what’s the next step…

Or maybe someone went on summer vacation and hasn’t gotten back to them yet? 🤔

About hopeforanswers

Some kind of rare immune deficiency, yet to be determined. A lifetime of infections without an elevated white cell blood or fever. Very grateful to be alive, very thankful for the friends who’ve supported me and for access to literally millions of dollars worth of medical care. I’m not the bubble child, I’m somewhere in between.
